Sponsorship Sales Executive | Sponsorship & Events Sales | Global Data Business
Salary: £55,000 + £25k bonus on target, uncapped above target
Location: London, hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in the office)
International travel to events
I'm working with a global commodities data, news and events business, 700+ people worldwide, who are hiring an Account Executive to sell sponsorship across their international events. It's a pure new business role based in London, in the office Tuesday to Thursday.
You'll take on 2-3 events in their global portfolio, covering markets like metals and mining, agriculture, forest products and energy transition. Your job is to build the pipeline: find the right person at new sponsors, get in front of them through cold outreach, and sell bespoke sponsorship packages.
A commodities background isn't needed, but you'll need a sponsorship sales track record with the new business numbers to back it up.
What They're Looking For
- Sponsorship sales: 3+ years across events, exhibitions or media
- New business: a proven record, with the numbers to show it
- Prospecting and cold outreach to senior decision makers
- Value-based selling of bespoke commercial packages
- CRM discipline: Salesforce, HubSpot or similar
- International travel to events

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The deal sizes do a lot of the work here. With packages of £70k to £100k, a handful of wins moves your number quickly, and the £25k bonus on target has no cap above it.

You'll sell events you then attend, meeting sponsors face to face at global shows. You'll work closely with production and editorial, so you shape each package around what's on the agenda. You'll be in a flat team of six sales executives, in an open culture with no politics and plenty of room for new ideas.
It's a numbers-led team with structured KPIs and regular pipeline reporting, so this suits someone who likes being measured and wants to open new accounts rather than manage existing ones.
