Sponsorship Sales Manager – Financial Technology & Investment Events

Location: London / Hybrid
Salary: £60k - £65k+ Uncapped Commission (£90K + OTE)

We are excited to be working with an established international events business delivering large-scale conferences, exhibitions and trade shows across some of the world's fastest-growing technology and financial markets.

The business brings together senior decision-makers, innovative technology providers and category-leading sponsors through high-profile events focused on areas including artificial intelligence, data science, quantitative investing, financial technology and the future of investment management.

With a growing portfolio of large-scale international events and a strong reputation within the technology and financial services sectors, the business is continuing to expand its commercial team and identify new opportunities for growth.

They are now looking for an ambitious Sponsorship Sales Manager to drive commercial growth across a flagship international event focused on the future of AI, data and technology within financial markets.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced B2B sales professional to take ownership of sponsorship and exhibition revenue across a high-profile international event bringing together senior investment, technology, data and quantitative professionals.

You'll be responsible for developing new business across defined vendor verticals, building relationships with senior marketing, sales and leadership stakeholders and managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through to proposal, negotiation and close.

The role will suit a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys a genuine hunter mentality, is confident engaging with senior decision-makers and is motivated by the opportunity to build new relationships and create revenue opportunities within a growing technology and financial markets event.

You'll work closely with production, marketing, delegate sales and operations teams to develop compelling sponsorship opportunities that connect clients with a highly relevant audience of investment professionals, technology leaders, data scientists, quantitative researchers and senior financial services decision-makers.

There is also the potential to line-manage Junior Sponsorship Sales Executives, subject to performance against agreed targets and KPIs during the first year, providing an opportunity to develop your leadership skills and help shape sales best practice across the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and develop a portfolio of target accounts across defined technology, data, financial services and investment-related verticals.
  • Identify and engage new prospects through targeted email, telephone, LinkedIn and other outbound channels.
  • Build strong, multi-threaded relationships across marketing, sales and senior leadership teams within target organisations.
  • Lead high-quality discovery conversations to understand client objectives, commercial priorities, budgets and timelines.
  • Develop tailored sponsorship and exhibition solutions that align client objectives with relevant audiences, content and event opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and close.
  • Prepare compelling commercial proposals and presentations that clearly demonstrate the value and ROI of event participation.
  • Negotiate commercials, contracts and procurement requirements with senior client stakeholders.
  • Consistently develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including sales stages, next steps, deal values and forecasting information.
  • Take ownership of individual revenue targets and consistently deliver against agreed commercial KPIs.
  • Work closely with Production, Marketing, Delegate Sales and Operations teams to create relevant sponsorship packages and client experiences.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to enhance their involvement through additional sponsorship, exhibition, content and on-site activation opportunities.
  • Represent the business at industry events and exhibitions, building relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Ensure agreed sponsorship deliverables are successfully delivered and maintain strong relationships throughout the event cycle.
  • Identify opportunities for renewals, upselling and longer-term commercial partnerships following each event.
  • Contribute to sales strategy, best practice and the ongoing development of the commercial proposition.
  • Potentially mentor and line-manage Junior Sponsorship Sales Executives, supporting their development and helping establish effective prospecting, discovery, proposal and negotiation processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
