Job Description

About the Role

Northumbria Sport are recruiting a full-time Sport Assistant who will be responsible for the daily operation of the building and perform a variety of customer-facing roles within Sport Central. The facility has both wet and dry-based activities and is situated on City Campus. The Sport Assistant is responsible for the daily operation of sports facilities, responsible for delivering a welcoming, safe, and outstanding experience for our customers. The Sport Assistant is a leading customer-facing role and will be required to undertake direct customer-facing services and operational roles as and when required. The Sport Assistant will have a good knowledge of Northumbria Sport programmed activities.

Reporting directly to the Duty Manager, the role will join Northumbria Sport, a core department within Campus Services. Northumbria Sport is responsible for delivering an excellent student experience through our range of sport, fitness, and wellbeing programmes.

The role will be based at Sport Central, but working at Coach Lane Sports Ground may be required.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Good understanding of Customer Service Experience requirements
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The initiative to solve problems of a practical nature
