University of East London

Founded in 1898, we at the University of East London (UEL) are proud to change lives through education. Our goal is to advance industry 5.0 careers-first education and provide a clear path to the jobs and opportunities of the future. We’re committed to driving diversity in the 5.0 talent pipeline, working in partnership to promote talent wherever it is found and creating a balanced, inclusive, and green future.

But we can't achieve this goal alone. We need forward-thinking, innovative, and curious individuals like you to join our community and help us craft our future. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people who share your passion for creating positive change. We’re an inclusive and welcoming community that is constantly moving forward, never satisfied with the status quo.

About Us

Are you looking to combine your marketing career with your passion for sport, physical activity and movement? Do you want to grow your experience, be creative and take ownership of your own campaigns? Then this may be the role for you!

We are East London Sport (ELS) at University of East London (UEL). We encompass all of UEL’s student sport and physical activity offering, ranging from High Performance Scholarships to our Moves+ app.

Within ELS we also have the SportsDock gym, the East London Phoenix basketball franchise, the Flete Talent programme and Sport in Your Futures, through which we offer support and opportunities for local communities and young people.

About The Job

As a marketing team your role is to support the promotion of our projects to the various different audiences. You’ll play a key role in helping us succeed in driving participation in sport and physical activity, promoting ELS’ offering and achieving our new Sport Strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
