The Sport Outreach role will work in partnership with the university Residential Experience team to drive participation from students living in Halls encouraging them to utilise their Active Living package, facilitating friendships and improving wellbeing. The role will also focus on creating meaningful insight driven interventions that open up sport and physical activity to International Students which will not only encourage greater participation in sport but strengthen community and sense of belonging.
Our approach places students at the heart of everything we do. This role will play a positive role in student experience by facilitating friendships, creating a sense of community, and fostering belonging among residents.
You’ll –

- Embed current UoN Sport programmes into Active Living and work with other teams and departments to encourage engagement (IMS, Just Play, Clubs, Gym, etc).
- Devise systems for the collection of data, feedback, registration, and attendance for all programmes and events.
- Review and evaluate international student engagement in sport and physical activity to understand current levels of engagement, perceived value, impact, and the barriers to our programmes.
- Develop a strategic plan to support the increased engagement of international students in sport and physical activity, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of outcomes across all three University campuses.
- Support ResX cultural events and build in sporty elements.
- Lead on the recruitment, management, training, and work programmes of part-time student ambassadors.
- Manage and be accountable for a delegated budget, ensuring that expenditure is within agreed limits.
- Embed monitoring and evaluation into programs to measure the impact of interventions (e.g. Sense of Belonging, friendships, wellbeing).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
