This role will be immersed in the delivery of our recreational sporting programme, both intramural and collegiate. These sporting programmes engage thousands of students across campus, giving them an outlet for their passions and helping them to develop new skills in the process. You’ll become part of an energetic team dedicated to supporting students make the most of their time at here through opportunities that have a positive impact on the University experience.
As part of an energetic and supportive team, you’ll collaborate with staff, students, and partners to design and deliver opportunities that make a real difference to student life. This is a full-time, fixed term role for two years.

Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist in the delivery of the Students’ Unions agreed sport participation projects, working closely to deliver recreational and college leagues and supporting wider recreational sporting activity.
Engagement
Work with students, Students’ Union staff and University Sports staff to help plan and facilitate a programme of recreational and college sport opportunities.
Support student sports leaders in considering recreational offers, and participating within agreed frameworks.
Engage with external stakeholders, networks and partners (both current and potential) in order to enhance recreational sport opportunities and offers within Lancaster.
To be a key contact for student engagement in recreational and college sport within the Campus community.
Implementation and delivery
Campus community sport programmes: Duties to include planning activities (including leagues and one off events), booking venues, creating and maintaining records and communicating with leaders, participants and other stakeholders, as directed by the Sports Development Manager.
Students Sports Clubs: support the engagement and empowerment of student leaders in considering how recreational level sport is delivered. This will include engaging with “competitive” clubs to look at how they offer recreational opportunities, and supporting non-competitive recreational clubs in their endeavours.

Administration
Assist in the monitoring and reporting of participation and levels of activity, in order to inform Sports Strategy and operational planning of recreational sport at Lancaster.
Maintain an up-to-date list of internal and external contacts relevant for college and recreational sport.
Undertake administrative and office based organisational as required;
Students union policies and standards
Understand the Unions constitution, policies and procedures, and ensure they are adhered to in your work.
Work to ensure that the Union is a safe, sustainable and fair organisation for our staff, students and others we engage with. This will include;
- Safeguarding. Ensure understanding of the Unions Safeguarding procedures, and how they impact on and apply to your area of work. Ensure vigilance and consistency in recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns.
- Data protection. Ensure that all data protection and information security policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Health and Safety policy and procedures. Ensure a thorough understanding of all relevant Health and Safety requirements within your area of work, including appropriate contributions to Risk Assessments, and adherence to Manual Handling arrangements.
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Understand, uphold and champion the Union’s commitments to equality, diversity and inclusion in everything you do.
- Sustainability policies and procedures. Understand, uphold and champion the Union’s policies and commitments to sustainability.
