About this role:
Crystal Palace FC Women's Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Therapist to join our team. You will be a key member of the medical department providing high-quality sports therapy services to the CPFCW First Team. In collaboration with the medical team you will assist with providing treatment, the delivery of rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes, providing medical services on match days and implementing screening programmes, where required. The successful candidate will work alongside the Lead Physiotherapist, First Team Physiotherapist and Team Doctor within the Medical Department.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our medical team to evaluate and diagnose injuries and provide appropriate medical treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- In collaboration with the Lead Physiotherapist develop and implement injury prevention strategies to minimise injury risk and optimize performance.
- Provide medical cover for all training sessions and Women’s first team fixtures (including away travel).
- Collaborate with performance and technical staff to develop individualized rehabilitation plans for injured players to ensure a smooth transition back to training and competition.
- Develop and implement appropriate rehabilitation plans for all injured players including gym and pitch-based components using appropriate technology and monitoring systems to guide progression.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all players and provide regular reports on the status of injured players.
- Build strong and reliable relationships working collaboratively and respectfully with all players and staff.
- Uphold secure channels of communication with senior medical and performance team staff.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sports medicine and injury management and contribute to the club’s injury prevention strategies pro-actively seeking out new ideas.
- Facilitate an environment in which our athletes can prepare for the demands of training and playing at an elite level.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
- Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Sports Therapy degree
- Be a registered member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST) or
- Have an up-to-date full Advanced Emergency Aid qualification; this should be the Level 5 ATMIFF.
- Attend a yearly ATMMiF-R reaccreditation.
- FA Safeguarding in Football qualification
- Previous experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
- A good understanding of elite female athlete health
- Experience of planning and delivering the rehabilitation of a range of sports injuries including on and off-field rehabilitation sessions.
- Significant experience of using clinical, gym-based, and pitch-based objective measures to inform clinical decision making during the rehabilitation process
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and teamwork
- To be calm, composed, and caring
- Flexibility to work the hours required to fulfil the role and the requirements of Crystal Palace women first team
- Experience working within Women's Football (desirable)
