Job Title: Assistant Buyer

Reports To: Senior Buyer

Main Function:

To support and assist the Buyers in delivering the business strategy for our organisation.

Please note, applicants must have experience or be actively working as an Assistant Buyer. This position will sit in our Sports branded team so experience with relevant brands is desired.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Buyers in delivering the Buying strategy for the Business
  • Working closely with the Merchandising team and with guidance of BM/Buyer to manage and deliver the strategy for their department
  • Ensuring that their department ranges are bought and delivered in time with the Buying Critical Path and within OTB requirements
  • Working closely with the merchandising team to achieve target intake margins/sales and profit plan with the direction from BM/Buyer
  • Using sales and performance information to suggest areas for maximizing all sales opportunities
  • Supporting the BM/Buyer to help build a commercially viable product range that reflects the schuh brand image and current trends
  • Understands market with strong competitor awareness

Suppliers

  • Manage supplier critical path to ensure deliveries are on time
  • Support the strategic direction of the partnership with all suppliers

Team

  • Managing and supporting BAA’s on the team

Wider Business

  • Ambassador for the Buying team, working closely with Retail/Marketing/Ecommerce/Merchandising building strong relations with all stakeholders

Miscellaneous

  • Supporting the Buyers/Buying Manager/HOB/Buying Director in any other areas required
  • Ensure all communication adheres to the GDPR policies
  • Work with own initiative and as part of the wider team
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Health & Safety policy & procedures
  • Carry out any other duties as required by Company management
