Suffolk New College Sports Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Sports Centre Duty Manager to join our Pool staff to cover for Holidays and sickness cover, as and when needed.
You will help oversee the day-to-day operation of the Sports Centre, ensuring that our facilities are safe, well presented and provide an excellent experience for students, staff, customers and members of the local community.
The Sports Centre supports the College’s curricular activities during the day and operates as a community leisure facility during evenings and weekends. The Centre also delivers a student enrichment programme, providing learners with opportunities to participate in sport and physical activity outside of their curriculum.
Our Facilities Include
- A four-court, multi-purpose sports hall accommodating badminton, football, volleyball, basketball, trampolining and other activities.
- A 25-station fitness suite - for Academic use only.
- Two multi-purpose activity rooms used for martial arts, table tennis, children's parties, teaching, meetings and other activities.
- Five-a-side and eight-a-side ProTurf synthetic football pitches.
The Sports Centre Opening Hours Are
- Mon-Friday 7.30am - 10.15pm
- Saturday 8.30am - 6.15pm
- Sunday 8.30 - 8.15pm
The Centre also accommodates Goals Soccer Centre, which operates the football pitches. They manage and staff the pitches area during evenings and weekends.
During College daytime hours, the outdoor pitches remain under the control of Suffolk New College whilst the Sports Centre is the responsibility of Suffolk New College, at all times.

As a Duty Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth, safe and effective operation of the Sports Centre.
Your responsibilities would include unlocking and preparing the Centre, setting up facilities and equipment, checking that everything is ready for customers, responding to customer enquiries, monitoring activities, dealing with operational issues and ensuring the Centre is clean, safe and well maintained.
