Who We Are

The St Johnstone Community Trust, known as ‘Saints in the Community’, is an award-winning charity based in Perth & Kinross and powered by the reach and identity of St. Johnstone Football Club. We use sport - and football in particular - to bring people together, improve health and wellbeing, build skills and confidence, and create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

We support more than 1,500 people each year through our three pillars of Sport, Education and Wellbeing. Our programmes include grassroots and inclusive football, holiday and school provision, girls' and women's activity, disability and additional-support-needs programmes, health and wellbeing projects, and community learning and education.

We are now entering an important next chapter. The Sports Coordinator will be central to making that happen.

Job Purpose

The Sports Coordinator plays a leading role in the development and delivery of Saints' football and wider sports programmes, with football as the clear priority. You will lead the development and growth of high-quality, inclusive opportunities with school, club, and community settings, increasing participation, supporting positive development, and strengthening community connections.

The role is approximately 70% programme management, development, and coordination and 30% hands-on delivery. You will provide management oversight and day-to-day leadership to the sports team; coordinating coaches, volunteers, resources, and delivery. You will lead programme development, identify new opportunities, and ensure existing programmes are effectively planned, staffed, promoted, monitored, and financially managed, while providing coaching and delivery support where required.

You will build strong partnerships and contribute to income-generation targets, using football and sport to promote positive behaviour, social cohesion, and wider community impact. You will also coach and deliver sessions directly when required, bringing strong football knowledge and practical coaching experience to the team.

Job Role & Responsibilities

Programme Development & Delivery

  • Programme Coordination & Delivery: Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of high-quality, safe and inclusive football and multi-sport activities, including schools and early years programmes, community coaching, holiday camps, walking football and adult physical activity, girls’ and women’s football, disability football, eSports and other sports programmes. Deliver sessions directly where required, in line with Scottish FA guidance and wider best practice.
  • Programme & Curriculum Development: Design structured, developmentally appropriate football session plans aligned with relevant local, national and international frameworks. Identify gaps in provision and respond to community needs by developing and improving football and multi-sport programmes in line with the Trust’s strategic priorities.
  • Participation & Progression: Develop opportunities for participants to engage in football & wider sports, broadening skills and supporting sustained participation. Create appropriate pathways for young players to progress in football while balancing participation, talent development and wider community impact.
  • Inclusion & Accessibility: Ensure programmes are inclusive, trauma-informed and accessible, with particular consideration given to underrepresented groups and participants with additional support needs, including SEBN.
  • Events & Community Engagement: Coordinate tournaments, festivals, open days, matchday experiences and other football and multi-sport events to increase participation, community engagement and the visibility of the Trust. Develop effective ways of gathering and responding to feedback from participants and the wider community to inform future provision.
  • Promotion & Communications: Support the promotion of football and multi-sport programmes through email, social media, newsletters, community events and other appropriate communication channels. Act as a key point of contact for participants and their families, responding promptly to enquiries and communications relating to sports activities, while building positive relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
