Sports Graduate – Behaviour Mentor
Are you a Sports graduate looking to use your passion, resilience, and leadership skills to support young people in education?
Do you want to gain valuable classroom experience while making a real difference to the lives of pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support?
We are currently seeking a dedicated Sports Graduate – Behaviour Mentor to work within secondary schools and specialist SEND provisions. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and other additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Working alongside teachers, SEND professionals, and pastoral teams, you'll build positive relationships with pupils, encourage engagement in learning, and promote positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
🕒 Working Hours
- 8:30am – 3:30pm, Full Time or Part Time
- Term Time Only
💡 What We're Looking For
- A degree in Sports, Sports Coaching, Physical Education, or a related subject.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A resilient, patient, and proactive approach.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to provide two recent references.

🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils who require additional behavioural support.
- Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to encourage engagement and positive behaviour.
- Support pupils with SEMH, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and other additional needs.
- Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence through positive role modelling.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Support pupils during lessons, social times, and transition periods throughout the school day.
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and self-esteem through structured activities.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.
