What's the position?

The Sports Owner will operate at Senior Trader level within the Sportsbook Trading Team, with core responsibility for price management, risk oversight, and the accuracy and competitiveness of our sportsbook offering across all sports. In addition to these core trading duties, the Sports Owner will take named ownership of a specific sport, acting as the internal authority on that product — driving its pricing strategy, feature set, and competitive positioning, while remaining embedded in day-to-day team trading and risk responsibilities.

As part of our Trading Performance team, we are looking for sport owners who bring specialist expertise to, and take direct responsibility for: NHL, Combat Sports, Golf, Table Tennis, eSports and Tennis. Each owner will act as the recognised specialist for their sport — the internal point of expertise on its markets, pricing, and content offering — while contributing to the collective performance of the wider trading desk.

You will manage multiple third-party data feeds and trading tools to maintain market integrity, optimise margins, and mitigate risk, with particular focus on your owned sport as well as broader coverage responsibilities across the desk. You will respond to market movements in real time, ensure pricing remains both competitive and compliant, and take the lead on refining and improving your sport's pricing, market depth, and feature parity relative to competitors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will develop a deep understanding of our trading systems and third-party integrations. For your owned sport specifically, you will help define requirements, benchmark against competitors, and feed testing insights back into the product and trading teams. You will demonstrate strong trading judgement, contribute to operational excellence across the team's shared workload, and support the training and development of junior traders.

What are we looking for?

You will be a decisive and analytical thinker, comfortable making real-time trading decisions in a fast-paced environment, with extensive sportsbook trading experience and a strong grasp of risk management principles. You will also bring deep, demonstrable expertise as a sports owner, its rules, nuances, player analytics, and betting behaviours, sufficient to act as the go-to voice on that product internally.

You will have excellent attention to detail, strong numerical and technical skills, and the ability to interpret data to inform both day-to-day trading decisions and longer-term strategy for your owned sport. You will be proactive and organised, comfortable working non-standard hours to ensure coverage of key sporting events, including those outside your owned sport.

Key attributes and experience include:

Trading & Risk Oversight

  • Monitor real-time exposure across covered sports, proactively identify betting patterns and sharp action, set appropriate limits, and implement risk management protocols to protect margin and profitability. Proven ability to react quickly and logically during live events or high-volume periods.

Third-Party Feed & Product Optimisation

  • Proven ability to manage, assess, and optimise third-party odds and data feeds — both for the owned sport and across general trading responsibilities. Experience creating bespoke prices where needed and resolving feed issues to maintain data accuracy.

Competitive Benchmarking & Product Input

  • Conduct regular competitor benchmarking for the owned sport across major operators, assessing pricing competitiveness, market uptime, and feature parity. Feed findings into product, quant, and trading management to shape roadmap priorities and pricing improvements.

Analytical Ability

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of trading strategies and product performance, analysing large datasets to identify value leaks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities — both team-wide and specific to the owned sport. Produce data-driven reports for senior management highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities. Proficiency in Excel and trading platforms; experience with BI tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau is an advantage.

Mentorship & Team Contribution

  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior and mid-level traders, sharing best practice in bookmaking, modelling, and risk principles, while fulfilling standard Senior Trader responsibilities across the wider desk, not solely the owned sport.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, quant, technology, and operations teams to develop new markets, refine customer experience, and support innovation for the owned sport specifically, as well as contributing insights that benefit the broader sportsbook.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and senior stakeholders.
