About the Role
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Physiotherapist / Sports Rehabilitator to join our Health & Wellbeing team at Clifton College. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced practitioner or a newly qualified Physiotherapist or BASRaT-registered Sport Rehabilitator looking to develop their career within a busy and ambitious sporting environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupil health, wellbeing and performance, providing high-quality assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and injury prevention services across a wide range of sports and age groups. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Health Centre, Sports Department and wider pastoral teams, they will help ensure pupils receive outstanding clinical care and support throughout their sporting journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking clinical assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions within professional scope of practice
- Developing and delivering safe, progressive and individualised rehabilitation programmes to support recovery and return to sport
- Supporting injury prevention initiatives, movement screening and athletic development programmes
- Providing pitch-side assessment, first aid and injury management during training sessions and fixtures
- Supporting the assessment and management of concussion, including graduated return-to-learn and return-to-play programmes
- Working collaboratively with Health Centre staff, Strength & Conditioning coaches, Heads of Sport and external healthcare professionals to provide joined-up pupil care
- Recognising when referral to external healthcare providers is required and facilitating continuity of care
- Maintaining accurate, confidential and contemporaneous clinical records in line with professional standards, GDPR and College policies
- Providing injury updates and rehabilitation progress reports to relevant stakeholders, including pupils, parents and staff
- Contributing to injury audits, data analysis and strategies to reduce injury risk and improve pupil wellbeing
- Supporting the review and development of clinical procedures, policies and best practice guidance
- Maintaining medical and rehabilitation equipment, ensuring it is safe, fit for purpose and appropriately stocked
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, external clubs, academies and sporting organisations
- Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safeguarding, confidentiality and ethical practice at all times

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be registered with either the HCPC as a Physiotherapist or BASRaT as a Sport Rehabilitator and be able to demonstrate strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people in sport. Experience within a sporting, educational or performance environment would be advantageous, as would experience providing pitch-side medical cover, concussion management or strength and conditioning support.
