Role Description
This is a remote internship role for a Sports Writer at World in Sport. The Sports Writer will research and write news articles, match reports, opinion pieces, and feature stories across various sports, with a particular emphasis on football. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring sports news, pitching story ideas, drafting and revising articles, and collaborating with editors for feedback and publication. The intern will be expected to meet deadlines, follow editorial guidelines, and ensure accuracy and fairness in all reporting. This internship offers practical experience in digital sports journalism and the opportunity to develop a professional writing portfolio.

- Strong Sports Writing and Writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and accurate articles.
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for Football and other major sports covered by World in Sport.
- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to work with editors and respond to feedback.
- Foundational Journalism skills, such as research, fact-checking, and adherence to ethical standards.
- Excellent command of written English and attention to detail in grammar and style.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with online publishing, blogging platforms, or content management systems is an advantage.
- Relevant studies or coursework in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field are beneficial but not mandatory.
