Role Description:
This remote internship role as a Sports Writer involves researching and producing articles, match reports, opinion pieces, and features on a range of sports, with a strong emphasis on football.

- Writing and revising content
- Collaborating with editors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelines
Interns will optimise articles for online readership, including crafting engaging headlines and using basic digital publishing tools. The role offers hands-on experience in sports journalism, content creation, and audience engagement, providing practical training and feedback to help develop a professional writing portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Strong Sports Writing and general Writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and original articles.
- Knowledge and passion for Football and familiarity with other major sports covered by World in Sport.
- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to convey complex sporting narratives in an accessible way.
- Foundational Journalism skills, such as basic research, fact-checking, and adherence to ethical reporting standards.
- Excellent command of written English and attention to grammar, structure, and style.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage deadlines, and respond constructively to editorial feedback.
- Interest in digital media, online publishing, and audience-focused content; experience with blogging or social media is a plus.
- Relevant academic background or demonstrable experience in sports writing, journalism, media, or communication is beneficial.
