High-End Spray Painter / Finisher
Location: Gloucestershire
£15.00 – £18.00 per hour DOE
Permanent | Monday–Friday | 08:00–16:30
BMR Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Spray Painter / Finisher to join a specialist manufacturing business producing high-value, premium finished products.
This is not a general industrial spray-painting position.
The quality of the finished surface is critical, and we are looking for somebody accustomed to working in an environment where appearance, consistency, and attention to detail are exceptionally important.
The successful candidate will have previous professional experience producing premium, appearance-critical sprayed finishes where even minor surface imperfections would be unacceptable.
The Role
You will be responsible for the preparation and spray finishing of manufactured components, taking ownership of the quality of the surface from initial preparation through to the final top coat.
The work requires patience, consistency, and an exceptional eye for detail.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing surfaces to a premium standard before spraying
- Filling, sanding, and priming components
- Applying high-quality top coat finishes
- Producing consistent satin finishes
- Achieving smooth, uniform, and defect-free surfaces
- Identifying and rectifying imperfections before final inspection
- Accurately mixing and preparing paints and coatings
- Working with AC, PU, and water-based coating systems
- Operating pump spray guns and associated spray systems
- Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment
- Inspecting completed components against demanding quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and controlled spray booth/work area
- Working to production requirements without compromising finish quality

The Person
Previous experience in a comparable high-quality spray finishing role is essential.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked with high-value products where the visual quality of the finished surface is critical.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
- High-end furniture or cabinet manufacture
- Bespoke joinery
- Luxury interiors
- Specialist automotive finishing
- Motorsport or prestige vehicle components
- Marine or yacht interiors
- High-value engineered products
- Other premium manufacturing environments involving appearance-critical sprayed finishes
The particular industry is less important than the standard of finish you are accustomed to producing.
You must be able to demonstrate strong experience of surface preparation as well as spraying. This includes understanding how filling, sanding, priming, and preparation directly affect the quality of the final top coat.
Experience of working with MDF would be particularly advantageous.
Essential Experience
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- Professional spray painting / finishing experience
- Experience producing premium, appearance-critical finishes
- Excellent surface preparation skills
- High-quality top coat application
- Experience identifying and correcting surface imperfections
- Knowledge of professional paint and coating systems
- Experience using pump spray guns or comparable professional spray equipment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to maintain consistent quality across multiple components
- Pride in producing an exceptionally high standard of finished work

Experience with AC (acid catalyst), PU (polyurethane), and water-based coatings would be particularly relevant.
What We're Looking For
The difference between an acceptable finish and an exceptional finish can be extremely small.
For this reason, this position will suit somebody who naturally notices minor imperfections, variations in surface preparation, inconsistencies in coverage, or defects in a finished top coat – and who takes the time to correct them.
We are looking for somebody who takes genuine pride in the quality of their work and is accustomed to working on products where the finish needs to be right first time.
Previous high-volume industrial spraying experience alone may not be sufficient; the emphasis of this position is very much on precision, preparation, and premium finish quality.
£15.00 – £18.00 per hour depending on experience.
Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30.
