Position Purpose

They will be responsible for preparing and spraying a variety of metal products, whilst following specifications for paint selection based on customer requirements. Operate spray equipment or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal products. Alongside this, the painter will paint and primer a variety of components by using a mixture of primer and paints colours as specified by the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare units by sanding and degreasing as required
  • Mix paint and other solutions and monitor drying to ensure the desired result is achieved
  • Fill out appropriate progress reports as required
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures
  • May paint items by hand where necessary

Position Requirements

  • A good all-around general education
  • Good numeracy and mechanical skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of industrial paint techniques and how to prepare units for paint
  • Experience using industrial paint equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of numerical and mathematical calculations and data
  • Effective time and project management skills
  • Adherence to health and safety policies
  • Conscientious workmanship

Desired Qualifications

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Forklift license (Desirable)
  • Previous experience using an overhead crane (Desirable)
  • Time served apprenticeship (Desirable)
  • Possess an NVQ or CSCS certification (Desirable)
  • Experience with stainless steel / aluminum would be advantageous (Desirable)
  • Previous experience using Epicor would be advantageous (Desirable)
