About the Role
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Spray Painters and Panel Beaters to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for preparing, repairing, and painting plant machinery, vehicles, and specialist attachments to a high standard. This role is essential in maintaining the appearance, quality, and presentation of our extensive fleet.
The successful candidates will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to delivering quality workmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare plant machinery, vehicles, and specialist attachments for painting and finishing.
- Carry out panel repairs, including the removal, replacement, straightening, and reshaping of damaged panels.
- Repair dents, scratches, corrosion, and other surface damage.
- Complete paint preparation tasks, including sanding, filling, masking, priming, and surface treatment.
- Mix and apply paint, primers, and protective coatings using spray guns and other appropriate equipment.
- Match colours and finishes to the required specification.
- Inspect completed work to ensure a high-quality finish and compliance with company standards.
- Work from job cards, repair instructions, and technical specifications.
- Use workshop tools, spray-painting equipment, lifting equipment, and other machinery safely and correctly.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Report additional damage, defects, or parts requirements to the relevant team member.
- Complete work within agreed timescales while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures, including the correct handling and storage of paints, solvents, and other chemicals.
- Support other workshop duties and complete any other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Experience and Requirements
- Previous experience as a Spray Painter, Panel Beater, Vehicle Painter, Bodyshop Technician, or in a similar role.
- Experience working with plant machinery, commercial vehicles, heavy vehicles, agricultural equipment, or specialist attachments is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of panel repair, paint preparation, spraying techniques, and finishing processes.
- Ability to achieve a high-quality, professional finish with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to identify damage and select the appropriate repair method and materials.
- Competent in the safe use of workshop tools and spray-painting equipment.
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements and COSHH procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to meeting deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a positive approach to working collaboratively with colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications or industry training in vehicle body repair, refinishing, painting, or a related discipline are desirable.
