Spray Shop Supervisor

Location: Ipswich

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Spray Shop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of the spray shop, ensuring high-quality finishing, efficient production, and on-time delivery. Working closely with the Spray Shop Manager, you will lead the team, maintain quality standards, and step into a supervisory role when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, spray and finish timber products to a high standard.
  • Manage the spray shop team in the absence of the Spray Shop Manager.
  • Allocate workloads and prioritise jobs to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor quality control and ensure all products meet company standards.
  • Lead daily team activities, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
  • Maintain health & safety compliance, including RAMS, COSHH and workshop procedures.
  • Liaise with production, workshop and management teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and housekeeping.
  • Attend production meetings and provide regular updates on department performance.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a spray shop or timber finishing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of wood finishing, stains, paints and spray techniques.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight production deadlines.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience within a joinery or bespoke manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
