Role Overview
Spring Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Spring Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established precision engineering business in High Wycombe. This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer with a strong background in the manufacture of compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs, and wireforms.
The successful candidate will have proven experience setting, operating, and optimizing CNC spring-making machinery, taking responsibility for machine setup, tooling, production quality, and process improvements. You will play a key role in ensuring customer specifications are met while maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and workmanship throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Duties
- Manufacture compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs, and wireforms to customer specifications and tolerances
- Set, operate, and adjust CNC spring-making machines to achieve optimal production output
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and production requirements
- Carry out tooling changes, machine setup, and process adjustments where required
- Perform metal forming and manipulation processes using a variety of workshop equipment and hand tools
- Operate additional workshop machinery including mills, lathes, grinders, and guillotines as required
- Inspect, measure, and verify finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and efficiency

Requirements
- Proven experience manufacturing compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs, and/or wireforms
- Experience operating and setting CNC spring-making machines
- Strong understanding of spring manufacturing processes and tooling
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and quality inspection processes
- Good mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience within a precision engineering or metalworking environment
