Job Title: SPS Control Systems Lead
Duration: 12 months, renewable
Schedule: Residential / Full-time
Location: UK (Bristol, Nailsea), with relocation to Baku, Azerbaijan for the installation phase in 2028
This opportunity offers a senior technical position supporting subsea production systems within a major offshore gas and condensate development. The role focuses on SPS subsea control systems, subsea distribution, interfaces with EPS brownfield facilities, and integration with ICSS and ASPL systems across engineering, fabrication, testing, commissioning, and installation phases. This position will suit candidates looking to contribute to a complex offshore project environment with broad technical scope and long-term project visibility.
Required Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, including at least 10 years within subsea production systems.
- Proven experience in subsea controls roles on major EPC or EPCI projects.
- Strong background covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, delivery, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and installation support for subsea control systems.
- Experience reviewing contractor technical documentation, responding to technical queries, and managing discipline interface issues in complex project environments.
- Experience supervising fabrication and testing activities across multiple fabrication yards, including FAT, EFAT, SIT, qualification, and commissioning activities.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of subsea equipment including trees, manifolds, umbilicals, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards including API, ISO, and DNV.
- Ability to coordinate technical specifications for SPS integration into control room, ESD/SD logic, software interfaces, mimics, HMI, and ICSS systems.
- Capability to define SPS control and ICSS networks, interface nodes, interface links, and project execution test campaigns.
- Experience reviewing power, communications, and hydraulic analysis to ensure system operability.
- Knowledge of QA/QC, HSE&Q, and technical assurance requirements within offshore project delivery.
- Ability to support cybersecurity solution implementation and testing on relevant workstations.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
