About The Role

The SQL Developer (Graduate / Junior) role based in Glasgow offers an exciting opportunity for early-career professionals to develop their skills within a dynamic and fast-growing SaaS company. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundational knowledge of SQL, including data querying, manipulation, and performance tuning. Basic experience or familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or SSRS is desirable. Candidates should have an understanding of the software development lifecycle, including testing, defect management, and deployment processes. Previous exposure to low-code or configurable platforms is a plus. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eagerness to learn are essential. Candidates should be able to translate requirements into effective solutions, work well within a team, and demonstrate a proactive attitude towards professional growth. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if complemented by relevant experience or skills.

Responsibilities

As an SQL Developer in this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Configuring and developing data solutions based on detailed designs and business requirements.
  • Writing efficient SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and optimize data performance.
  • Assisting senior developers and build leads with build activities and technical support.
  • Conducting unit testing and end-to-end testing to ensure solution quality.
  • Investigating and resolving defects identified during testing phases to maintain high standards.
  • Supporting release preparation, deployment activities, and post-deployment validation.
  • Participating in peer reviews, code reviews, and maintaining adherence to best practices.
  • Gaining exposure to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment.
