Role Summary

Data is at the heart of Reward’s business, and the SQL Developer is a key ingredient in delivery Reward’s commitments to its clients.

As a SQL Developer in the Consumer Insights team you will contribute to the delivery an excellent service to our clients by assisting in the maintenance and development of our data management backend systems and client-facing web portals.

This role is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract as a Maternity Cover.

Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of SQL, implementing stored procedures, triggers, views and functions
  • Understanding of database design and development
  • Knowledge of database performance troubleshooting and optimisation strategies
  • Experience of supporting bespoke web applications
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office suite with emphasis on Excel
  • Minimum 2+ years SQL experience
  • Experience in cloud solutions is desirable
  • Working knowledge of MS Power BI is desirable

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in numerate discipline

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to complete tasks end to end accurately and consistently
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the data at hand, what it means in the real world and identify potential data quality issues using this understanding
  • Time Management: Ability to manage own time to ensure on-time delivery
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker with a track record of delivering data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Processing data using SQL/SSMS (cleaning, modifying, aggregating etc.)
  • Data receipt and import processes
  • Development and execution of automation scripts to create usable insight data products for internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Processing and validation of data in MS Excel
  • User and client support
  • Quality checking work which goes out to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance to ISO27001
  • Updating documentation as required
