Role: SQL Developer

We're looking for a SQL Developer to join our expanding development team based in Leeds. As a SQL Developer, you'll play a key role in developing new systems, integrating third-party applications and maintaining existing solutions. Working closely with developers, business analysts and stakeholders across the business, you'll help transform business requirements into practical, data-driven solutions that support decision making and drive operational improvements.

As a SQL Developer, You Will

  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into database and integration solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, scripts and database objects.
  • Build and support integrations between internal and third-party systems.
  • Integrate, transform and validate data for reporting and operational processes.
  • Investigate and resolve data, reporting, performance and integration issues.
  • Document data flows and technical changes.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts and stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions.

What You'll Need

  • At least 2 years' experience in a SQL Developer, Database Developer, Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience, including queries, stored procedures, scripts and database objects.
  • Experience creating or supporting data feeds, ETL/ELT processes, integrations or data pipelines.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience using source control tools such as Git.
  • Experience developing or supporting Python-based solutions.

Desirable

  • Degree-level qualification in a STEM subject or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Dataflows, Lakehouse or Warehouse solutions.
  • Experience developing or supporting REST API integrations or C# development.
