SQL Developer (Graduate / Junior) - Glasgow (Hybrid) – Up to 37K plus Bonus
- 2/3 days in their Central Glasgow office, rest of the week working from home
Lorien’s client, a fast-growing, global-reaching SAAS company with a great reputation in their domain, are currently looking to hire a couple of Graduate or Junior level Software Developers / Software Engineers with SQL skills to join their tech function team delivering data-driven solutions within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
This role is ideal for someone starting out in their software engineering career or who has kicked it off already but wants to join somewhere they know they’ll be able to progress further, who enjoys working with complex data, solving technical problems, and seeing their work move through build, test and deployment. It offers a great blend of hands-on technical work, structured delivery, and real impact.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team, helping to configure and deliver solutions aligned to business requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accuracy and performance.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role across the delivery lifecycle, including:
- Configuring and developing solutions based on agreed designs and requirements
- Working with data to query, manipulate and optimise performance
- Supporting build activities alongside more senior developers or build leads
- Carrying out unit testing and end-to-end testing
- Investigating and resolving defects identified during testing phases
- Supporting release preparation and deployment activities
- Contributing to peer reviews and maintaining high delivery standards
- Being exposed to the full lifecycle, not just isolated development tasks
What they’re looking for
- Good hands-on understanding of SQL (data querying, manipulation, and ideally performance tuning)
- Ability to deliver code and configurations in line with requirements, standards and deadlines
- Ideally some skills across reporting tools such as Power BI or SSRS
- Exposure to Unit/End-to-End Testing, defect management, and release processes
- Preferably any previous record of working with configurable or low-code platforms
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Ability to work from requirements and translate them into working solutions
- Eagerness to learn, strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
