About The Role
The SQL Developer (Graduate / Junior) role at Lorien is an excellent entry point for individuals looking to establish or advance their careers in software engineering and data management. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundational knowledge of SQL, including data querying, manipulation, and performance optimization. A background or interest in reporting tools such as Power BI or SSRS is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality code and configurations in line with project standards and deadlines. Exposure to testing methodologies, defect management, and release processes is preferred. Previous experience working with configurable or low-code platforms will be considered an advantage. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and a keen eagerness to learn are essential. Candidates should have a good understanding of the software development lifecycle and the ability to translate requirements into effective solutions. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically preferred but not mandatory if complemented by relevant skills and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Configure and develop data solutions based on detailed designs and business requirements.
- Query, manipulate, and optimize data performance to ensure efficient data processing.
- Support build activities in collaboration with senior developers or build leads.
- Conduct unit testing and end-to-end testing to ensure solution quality.
- Investigate and resolve defects identified during testing phases to maintain high standards.
- Assist in release preparation and deployment activities to ensure smooth rollouts.
- Participate in peer reviews, code reviews, and maintain best practices in delivery standards.
- Engage throughout the full project lifecycle, gaining exposure beyond isolated development tasks.
