About The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join their dynamic team on a 6-month initial contract, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a large local government organization, supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of ICT business systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and supporting solutions that underpin digital services, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and adhere to enterprise architecture standards. The role involves working in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that improve operational efficiency and service delivery to the community.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development and data management, with proven experience in SQL Server and related technologies. A relevant degree or professional certification in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in Microsoft.Net, Visual Studio, SQL Server (including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS), and Microsoft Office 365, particularly the Power Suite. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience working within an Agile environment are essential. Knowledge of data warehousing, reporting, and systems integration will be highly advantageous. The candidate must also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, support, and maintain ICT business systems, solutions, integrations, and management reporting functionalities in an Agile setting.
- Evaluate technical options and conduct impact analysis to inform decision-making processes.
- Propose innovative technical solutions aligned with the ICT Enterprise Architecture and Strategy.
- Take technical responsibility for various stages of the application management lifecycle, including investigation, analysis, specification, design, development, testing, implementation, support, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet organizational needs.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
- Support ongoing system improvements and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Contribute to project planning and reporting activities, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
