Role: SQL Developer
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Work Pattern: Hybrid
Salary: £40,000-£50,000
A well-established organisation is looking for a SQL Developer to join its growing IT team.

The successful SQL Developer will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing and maintaining database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server
- Writing and maintaining T-SQL, including stored procedures, functions and views
- Developing and improving database objects to support new functionality and system enhancements
- Working with developers, analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective SQL solutions
- Supporting data integration and ETL processes
- Troubleshooting and resolving SQL and database-related issues
- Investigating and improving query and database performance
- Carrying out data validation and testing
- Supporting business-critical SQL Server databases and associated data platforms
- Assisting with database maintenance, backups and recovery activities
- Monitoring database performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Producing clear technical documentation
- Contributing to development projects and change requests
- Supporting the continued improvement of database processes, standards and solutions

Key Requirements:
The company is looking for someone with solid commercial SQL development experience who is comfortable working independently while also contributing to a wider development team.
- Commercial experience developing Microsoft SQL Server solutions
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL
- Experience writing and maintaining stored procedures, functions and views
- Good understanding of relational databases and data modelling
- Experience with ETL/data integration, ideally SSIS or similar
- Experience troubleshooting SQL and database-related issues
- Understanding of query optimisation and SQL performance
- Experience working with business-critical databases
- Good problem-solving and analytical skill.
- A proactive approach and willingness to continue developing technical knowledge
