Ardent Credit Services Developer Opportunity
Ardent Credit Services provides market leading “digital first” financial recovery solutions to UK organisations and is part of the Phillips & Cohen Associates group. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Developer with a passion for IT to work directly with the Director of ICT. This is a hands-on technical role requiring a detailed understanding of data extraction and transformation as well as relational database and general programming techniques.
You will join our ICT Team in developing a new data warehouse and reporting system as well as developing business automation procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of SQL
- Querying, aggregation, and transformation of data using SQL
- An understanding of relational database principles and design
- Ability to learn new technologies and platforms
- Advanced knowledge in SQL Triggers, Stored Procedures, and functions
- Experience in SSRS
- Advanced use of MS-Excel
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Data migration experience
- Any experience in SSIS
- Any exposure to data warehouse structures and methodologies with modern ETL tools, e.g. Talend
- Data Integration experience
- Familiarity with build and debugging/analysis tools
- Python programming
- Extract, Transform & Load (ETL)
- Experience with Python web frameworks

Job Requirements
The candidate will be expected to provide hands-on assistance to the business and exercise problem-solving capabilities on a daily basis. The candidate will maintain an overall understanding of the operation of the ICT infrastructure and Data Management. The main duties the candidate will be expected to carry on will be:
- Writing stored procedures, scalar/table-based functions
- Developing data extraction and transformation procedures
- Developing reporting procedures
- Performing basic Database Administration tasks
- Contribute, both in ideas and execution, to the ongoing evolution of the platform architecture
- Database integrity monitoring
- Help in developing internal tools for reporting and data mining

- Proven ability to work under stress in emergencies, with the flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneously
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues in plain English
- Proactive approach and ability to work with colleagues to gain commitment to the delivery of high-standard products
