Senior SQL Server DBA | Outside IR35 | £450 per day | 3 Days Onsite (Central London - Liverpool Street)
I'm working with a client who are embarking on a major SQL Server modernisation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Server DBA to lead the transformation.
📍 Central London (Liverpool Street) – 3 days onsite (non-negotiable)
💰 £450 per day
📄 Outside IR35
🗓️ Initial contract
You'll be responsible for upgrading a critical SQL estate from SQL Server 2019 Always On Availability Groups to SQL Server 2025, while modernising legacy applications and ensuring a smooth transition across the wider database platform.

Alongside the migration, you'll design and implement resilient backup, disaster recovery and auditing solutions using Azure Blob Storage, Change Data Capture (CDC) and Change Tracking (CT), helping build a secure, enterprise-grade SQL environment.
Tech stack / experience:
- SQL Server 2014–2025
- SQL Server DBA (10+ years preferred)
- Always On Availability Groups
- Large-scale SQL version migrations
- SQL performance tuning, Query Store & execution plans
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Azure Blob Storage & Backup to URL
- Change Data Capture (CDC) & Change Tracking (CT)
- Azure Storage, Entra ID & SAS
- Database security, encryption & auditing
