Position Summary

This is a strategic sales position requiring an in-depth understanding of how technology enables business outcomes and helps customers overcome complex challenges. The role requires strategic thinking and planning, combined with the tactical execution of identified business opportunities.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of relationships with large, strategic accounts while ensuring revenue targets are achieved. You will maintain executive-level relationships, focusing on the long-term strategic value of each customer partnership. Success in this role requires the ability to build trusted relationships, communicate effectively at all levels, and develop opportunities across the F5 solution portfolio.

You will leverage your technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to position F5 solutions and services effectively. You will also work closely with Systems Integrators, Service Providers, and Value-Added Resellers (VARs) where appropriate to maximize customer value.

This is an individual contributor, quota-carrying sales role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts, acting as the primary point of contact regardless of geographic location.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships, focusing on the long-term strategic value of each customer partnership.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities to expand the adoption of F5 solutions and services while ensuring exceptional customer experience.
  • Identify, qualify, and progress both short-term and long-term sales opportunities while proactively addressing competitive threats.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, navigate complex decision-making processes, and successfully close opportunities.
  • Build and develop strong relationships with strategic partners, including Systems Integrators, Service Providers, and channel partners.
  • Facilitate executive engagement between customers, F5, and partners to support strategic initiatives and ongoing collaboration.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments relevant to assigned customers.
  • Understand customer business objectives and align F5's solutions to address their technical and commercial priorities.
  • Research target organizations, develop new business opportunities, and maintain a healthy pipeline through proactive prospecting and account development.
  • Develop account strategies aligned to customer objectives and F5 business priorities.
  • Lead and coordinate account strategy across cross-functional teams, including Sales, Systems Engineering, Customer Success, and leadership.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity forecasting and sales pipeline management using Salesforce throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • Develop and maintain detailed account plans, including organizational maps and strategic engagement plans.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure successful execution of account strategies and achievement of revenue goals.
  • Provide regular updates to sales leadership regarding account activity, business performance, and strategic opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and a recognized expert within your assigned accounts.
  • Build credibility and influence with senior executives and key decision-makers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Significant direct enterprise sales experience managing complex customer relationships.
  • Proven success selling technology solutions within strategic or large enterprise accounts.
  • Experience selling networking, application delivery, security, or cloud technologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies, preferably including F5 solutions.
  • Experience with internet-related software, cloud, or infrastructure technologies.
  • Excellent negotiation, commercial, and closing skills.
  • Strong consultative and solution-selling capabilities.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with customers and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office within the assigned territory.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The role may be performed at customer sites, data centers, or in an office environment.
  • Duties require regular use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • The position requires travel of up to 60% by car and air and may occasionally require work outside normal business hours, including evenings or weekends, to support customer and business needs.
