About The Role

Corebridge Real Estate Investors is seeking a Senior Accountant who will work under the supervision of a team responsible for the accounting, tax, reporting, and treasury aspects within the Corebridge Financial European real estate investment portfolio. This position requires someone who is motivated, interested in learning, and very attentive to detail. The individual for this position should be comfortable contributing to a team, prefer working in a busy environment where new and complex transactions occur, and enjoy interfacing at various levels within and outside the organization. This position offers experience in many accounting, reporting, and tax areas of responsibility within a line of business offering excellent growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

In addition to assisting management in special projects, as assigned, the core responsibilities of this position include:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial reporting, including GAAP financial statements (under both historical and investment company accounting), cash flows, tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and other project specific reporting.
  • Accounting responsibilities, including general ledger function, Investor, fund and property level reporting and cash management.
  • Coordinate and monitor external audit process.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving accounting, reporting, and tax issues.
  • Management of joint-venture partner relationships including review of monthly financial statements.
  • Assistance with the development of accounting policies and procedures and resolving internal control concerns.
  • Supporting the annual budget, monthly estimate, and quarterly variance reporting processes.
  • Preparation of reporting to various internal third-party groups under tight deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of accounting and finance work history within the real estate industry. Understanding of both U.S. GAAP investment company and historical cost accounting methods. Qualified Accountant preferred.
  • Must have a good work ethic. This role requires working under pressure with various projects and deadlines, while reporting to multiple people. There will be significant interaction with joint venture partners, Corebridge Financial internal groups, third-party property managers, fund administrators, asset/investment managers, and internal/external auditors.
  • It is essential that the individual be proactive with matters and responsive to management. Candidate must be able to work well independently and be capable of identifying and resolving issues. Individual should be detail oriented and willing to take a hands-on approach in all elements of the job.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting/financial statement presentation, budgeting, transaction analysis.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. There will be substantial interaction with many parties. The ability to communicate effectively is important.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Yardi, Microsoft Office Suite, and Advanced Excel skills.
