Senior Accountant – Vacation Rental Industry (Remote)

  • Remote (U.S. time zones preferred)

About The Role

We are hiring an experienced Senior Accountant with direct vacation rental (VR) industry experience to support client onboarding, streamline accounting operations, and customize accounting workflows for short-term rental businesses. This is a fully remote role and a critical position within our growing team.

This role requires hands-on experience working with vacation rental accounting systems, owners, and property managers. Candidates without prior vacation rental experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support client onboarding, ensuring accurate and efficient setup of accounting systems
  • Customize and streamline accounting workflows tailored to each vacation rental client
  • Manage and review financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Work with vacation rental platforms (e.g., PMS, channel managers, trust accounting systems)
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and best practices
  • Identify process improvements and implement scalable accounting solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency and client experience
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for vacation rental accounting

Required Qualifications

  • Senior-level accounting experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Direct vacation rental accounting experience is REQUIRED
  • Strong understanding of trust accounting, owner statements, and property-level reporting
  • Experience onboarding new clients and setting up accounting systems
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, AppFolio, or similar VR-focused platforms preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
