Inviting applications for the role of Senior Fraud Analyst_English_Onsite Milton Keynes!

Responsibilities

  • Investigate potential credit card fraud cases using alerts generated by fraud detection systems.
  • Respond to account inquiries from merchants and cardholders for one or more assigned clients, providing detailed responses in line with SLA-defined and ad-hoc fraud alerts.
  • Review fraud detection queues and identify questionable activity, irregular cardholder account patterns, and abnormal merchant data trends through account and transaction analysis.
  • Analyze account, payment, and transaction history to identify potential fraudulent activity and determine appropriate actions to minimize losses.
  • Recommend additional alerts, controls, and process improvements to increase fraud detection effectiveness and reduce fraud exposure.
  • Contact customers and merchants to obtain additional information regarding suspected fraudulent charges and account activity.
  • Complete lost or stolen card reports, including blocking and transferring compromised accounts to prevent further fraudulent activity.
  • Create credit card replacement orders and complete related shipping materials.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of investigation activities, findings, and case resolution information.
  • Support assigned clients by responding to fraud alerts and account inquiries within agreed service level agreements.
  • Assist in the administration of quality reviews and audit checks to ensure process compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Mentor, coach, and support less experienced Fraud Analysts to maintain and improve team performance.
  • Act as a subject matter resource by sharing knowledge of fraud trends, fraud techniques, and investigative best practices.
  • Apply advanced fraud analysis methodologies to identify fraud patterns, emerging threats, and abnormal account behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Research industry best practices, fraud techniques, regulations, and analytical methods to strengthen fraud prevention capabilities.
  • Deliver exceptional quality service standards/KPI’s and maintain accurate and up-to-date investigation records.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; 4-6 years of previous experience in a fraud-related field is preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to apply advanced job knowledge and act as a skilled specialist within fraud operations.
  • Intermediate analytical skills with the ability to identify potential fraudulent activity through account and transaction reviews.
  • Ability to work on assignments requiring considerable initiative and make practical recommendations for solutions.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly with cardholders, merchants, and internal teams.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced colleagues, share knowledge, and support team development.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to understand the implications of investigative findings and take appropriate action.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage competing deadlines.
  • Good IT literacy and ability to work effectively across multiple fraud and business systems.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to escalate complex or unusual matters where appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in fraud prevention, fraud investigations, banking, financial services, payments, or risk management environments.
  • Experience investigating complex fraud cases involving credit cards, account takeovers, or suspicious transaction activity.
  • Knowledge of fraud detection methodologies, fraud prevention tools, and transaction monitoring systems.
  • Strong understanding of credit card operations, merchant services, and cardholder account management.
  • Ability to identify fraud patterns, abnormal transaction behavior, and emerging fraud risks.
  • Experience conducting quality reviews, audit checks, or compliance-related activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and contribute to the development of analyst capabilities.
  • Ability to provide recommendations that improve fraud controls, operational processes, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and fraud case management systems.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, fraud trends, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
