Amazon Payment Acceptance & Experience Team

The Amazon Payment Acceptance & Experience Team is responsible for how Amazon's customers pay on Amazon's sites and through Amazon's services around the globe. You will work with the most relevant players in the payments industry to deliver best-in-class customer payment experiences while driving change in the industry. You will use your expertise to build and strengthen relationships with UK and Irish financial institutions, card networks, and alternative payment providers to deliver seamless paying experiences across both markets. You will leverage deep knowledge of the UK and Ireland payments landscape — including Open Banking, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), and local scheme dynamics — to proactively identify opportunities that improve customer payment success and reduce friction.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Build and own a holistic plan to improve key output metrics (Payment Success Rate, Cost of Payments, Customer Engagement) across the UK and Ireland, accounting for market-specific dynamics such as high contactless penetration, Open Banking adoption, and scheme behaviour
  • Analyse internal Amazon and external data to identify improvement opportunities in authorisation rates, decline recovery, and cost optimisation, with particular focus on UK issuer dynamics and the Irish landscape
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with UK and Irish issuers, acquirers, and scheme partners to conduct joint deep dives, resolve performance gaps, and unlock new capabilities and participating in working groups to shape standards
  • Drive adoption and optimisation of features and partner or scheme-level tools to improve performance of main metrics for UK/IE, working with issuers and authentication providers to maximise rates
  • Proactively create a feedback loop to Product and Engineering teams to influence roadmap priorities — e.g., launches, UX, features
  • Drive UAT and end-to-end testing with banks, networks, and providers for new capabilities, regulatory changes, or migrations
  • Monitor and respond to customer, regulatory and industry changes that impact payment acceptance, ensuring Amazon's compliance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
