Amazon is seeking an experienced business-oriented Robotics Deployment Field Operations Engineer to own end-to-end vendor management.
This role is the primary owner of our deployment vendor ecosystem — spanning system integrators, contract manufacturers, third-party assembly vendors, service providers, and workforce partners. You will drive vendor strategy, capacity planning, qualification, performance management, and on-site deployment support to ensure all external partners deliver on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will define and execute the deployment vendor strategy aligned to Plan of Record (POR) demand, lead competitive sourcing processes, qualify and onboard new vendors, manage vendor performance through structured scorecards and KPIs, and serve as the single point of contact between Amazon and our vendor partners for all deployment-related matters. You will coordinate across Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Deployment Program Managers/Engineers, and site operations to ensure seamless vendor execution across multiple technologies and geographies.

The role could be based in Berlin, London, Luxembourg or Vercelli with up to 60% travel across Europe and occasional international travel.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop relationships with new and existing vendors, cultivate relationships, and drive adherence to success criteria.
- Develop vendor qualification protocols and contracts and representing Amazon in meetings with senior executive teams from top selling partners.
- Establish goals & strategic direction for the role, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision. This includes goals around cost reductions and improved quality and safety processes.
- Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for vendor services, ensuring they meet or surpass customer satisfaction requirements. You will prepare and present reports on vendor performance, issues, and resolutions, establish mechanisms to onboard and maintain status of vendor into Amazon internal systems
- Develop business cases and request/manage Capital (budgets) ties to both in-year projects and long-term vendor development partnerships.
- Deep dive safety/quality/performance gaps, steering vendor performance through continuous improvement activities.
- Work closely with technical leaders and program managers to compose and influence product improvement roadmap according to vendor capabilities.
- Demonstrate program management, organizational, and leadership skills to facilitate effective, collaborative project meetings with vendors.
- Travel to actively engage with vendors, cultivating strong relationships and gaining firsthand insights into their operations and incorporate customer feedback gathered during onsite visits into vendor management strategies.

A day in the life
You will be interacting daily with a wide variety of functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization and in multiple time zones. You will conduct multiple weekly meetings with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to execute deliverables. You’ll be liaising with subject matter experts from across the organization, diving deep in the technologies we deploy; you’ll build these relationships to refine and improve our processes. No two days will be the same in our fast-moving environment, yet you’ll discover endless opportunities to grow along the way as part of a tight-knit and supportive team.

Our high-performing team blends engineering know-how, problem solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication to deliver positive results for our customers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- Experience in a procurement organization performing vendor management, contract management, negotiating complex purchases, and bidding
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings, or experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
- Knowledge of BI analytics, reporting or visualization tools like Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Cognos or other third-party tools
- Experience developing or delivering training programs across multiple sites or regions, or experience with project management
- Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)
- Experience with robotic deployments in logistic, supply chain, warehouse or fulfilment operations environments or equivalent
