Overview

The successful candidate will join our Commercial Finance team, with specific responsibility for business partnering with Sales & Marketing team to provide timely, accurate and useful management reports, analysis, and interpretations. Role will be a combination of i) traditional month-end and quarterly closing / reporting; ii) business partnering on value driving strategic initiatives; and iii) data analytics of retail market data Pan-European role and there may be the need to travel on an ad-hoc basis, to meet the needs of the business.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

  • Acts as a business partner to the sales team, being their first point of call for commercial support and linking with other functions to provide comprehensive and holistic answers
  • To work as a key part of the Commercial Finance team with deliver daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting processes
  • To execute month-end reporting activities and maintenance, including analysis and reconciliation of the sales rebate accounts.
  • To be a ‘go-to’ person for resolving commercial queries and preparing ad-hoc analysis with recommendations/findings.
  • Prepare quarterly board presentations for commercial and finance teams
  • Analyse monthly and quarterly financial projections
  • Uses deep understanding of objectives, issues and root cause analysis to provide insightful, fact-based financial analysis
  • To be a subject matter expert in the management of data in SAP reporting tools. This will require developing a deep understanding of the SAP source data and how this is derived
  • Build data analytics dashboards and analysis in Power BI
  • To support the Commercial Finance team during the year end audit process
  • To support the Commercial Finance team with preparation of annual budget. This involves developing the Sales Pricing/volume/ Standard Contribution To Overheads (“CTO”) tool to enable Standard CTO to be calculated as well as to understand the components of Standard CTO and their determination
  • Review profitability and potential changes to product portfolio and support the Innovation process (ad-hoc projects)
  • Build financial and business case for marketing campaigns, new product launches and other portfolio changes including impact of new and de-listed SKU’s (ranging from customer margin to operational impact)
  • Post-implementation audits/analysis for product launches and marketing campaigns
  • Analyze Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventory to identify opportunities to reduce write-off’s
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the team on a day-to-day basis.

Work Experiences

  • Demonstratable experience of using both SAP and Anaplan
  • Demonstrable experience of Food Manufacturing; Fast Moving Consumer Goods; or Commodities

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with some post qualified experience
