Role Summary

The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) will act as a strategic adviser and constructive challenger to senior leaders within a fast-paced technology environment. This role is pivotal in aligning the people strategy with business objectives, driving organizational effectiveness and enabling a high-performance, inclusive culture. The Senior HRBP will lead initiatives across talent management, strategic workforce planning, organizational change, employee relations and employee engagement, partnering closely with HR Centres of Excellence and HR Operations to deliver scalable, technology-enabled solutions that are compliant with employment law and reflect good people practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and deliver evidence-based people plans that enable sustainable business growth, innovation and transformation, with clear measures of impact.
  • Act as a trusted adviser and constructive challenger on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, organizational culture and risk.
  • Lead organizational design and restructuring programmes, including role design, selection approaches, consultation and implementation, to optimise structure, capability and scalability.
  • Coach leaders through growth, transformation and organizational change, ensuring effective communication, meaningful consultation, employee engagement and retention of critical skills.
  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning for critical technical and leadership roles.
  • Build leadership and management capability through coaching, facilitation and practical support, enabling managers to handle people matters confidently and consistently.
  • Use people analytics, external labour-market insight and employee-listening data to identify trends, risks and priorities, and to evaluate the impact of people interventions.
  • Champion equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging across recruitment, development, reward and promotion, supporting fair, transparent and accessible people practices.
  • Provide strategic oversight and hands-on support for complex and sensitive employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievance, absence, redundancy, TUPE and settlement discussions, ensuring fair process, appropriate documentation and compliance with employment law.
  • Lead the people aspects of restructures, redundancy and business-transfer activity, including individual and collective consultation and engagement with recognised trade unions or employee representatives where applicable.
  • Partner with Employment Legal, Privacy and HR Operations to manage employment risk, maintain appropriate records and ensure employee data is handled in line with UK data-protection requirements.

What you need to succeed

  • Substantial progressive HR experience, including significant experience in a senior HRBP role supporting executive or senior leaders in a complex, fast-paced organisation.
  • Proven experience in technology sector or similar fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
  • Strong experience in organizational design, organizational change, strategic workforce planning, talent management and leadership development.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of AI and automation, including their implications for workforce planning, skills development, job design, organizational change and responsible people decision-making.
  • Strong, current knowledge of employment law and employee relations practice, including collective consultation, TUPE, discrimination, family leave, working time and data protection; experience of trade union or employee representative engagement and multi-country HR practice is desirable.
  • CIPD Chartered Membership, or equivalent senior-level professional experience, is preferred; CIPD Level 7 or a relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading complex UK employee relations matters and organizational change in a matrixed environment.
