Sr Manager, Instructional Designer

This role will partner closely with the Governance pillar, ensuring training materials drive knowledge transfer and deliver appropriate training effectiveness. Additionally, this role will drive change through our overall GxP Learning process through continuous improvement and end user experience. Focusing on effective training material, appropriate assignments and maintaining fit for purpose curriculum.

The Instructional Designer creates and improves training materials and learning experiences that support employee capability, business performance, and regulatory compliance. This role designs practical, engaging learning solutions while ensuring content is accurate, accessible, controlled, and aligned with applicable policies, procedures, and standards.

What you will do

  • In this vital role you will
  • Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, blended-learning, and performance-support materials.
  • Partner with subject-matter experts to define learning objectives and translate complex, technical, or regulated content into clear, effective learning solutions.
  • Create and maintain curricula, course outlines, facilitator guides, participant materials, e-learning modules, job aids, assessments, and evaluation tools.
  • Apply adult-learning principles, instructional design methods, accessibility practices, and assessment standards.
  • Ensure learning materials meet regulatory, quality, document-control, and audit-readiness requirements.
  • Maintain accurate content versions, review records, approvals, and revision history.
  • Evaluate curriculum structure, course sequencing, assignments, assessments, and learner progression; provide guidance to instructors, program owners, and subject-matter experts.
  • Ensure assignments and assessments align with required competencies, curriculum outcomes, job expectations, and compliance obligations.
  • Review learner feedback, performance data, and business needs to improve learning effectiveness.
  • Support learning-process transformation by helping implement improved tools, standards, workflows, governance, and ways of working.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, modernize, or digitize learning processes across the learning lifecycle.
  • Stay current on instructional design, learning technology, learning analytics, accessibility, and compliance-training practices.

What we expect of you

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Operations, Development and / or related functions, experience in biopharmaceutical / life sciences industries preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, learning and development, organizational development, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience designing and developing training in a regulated, quality-controlled, or highly governed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult-learning theory, instructional design principles, curriculum development, assessment design, and learning evaluation.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, technical content, and regulatory requirements and translate them into effective training.
  • Experience providing guidance on curriculum, assignments, assessments, and learner requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard learning tools and platforms, such as Articulate, Captivate, and AI technology
  • Proven track record of successfully managing e-learning projects from conception to completion
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledgeable on SCORM LMS
