Role Description

This full-time Sr Mechanical Engineer role is a hybrid position based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work from home. The Sr Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, client requirements, and MEP coordination.   • Producing and reviewing mechanical designs and CAD drawings
  • Performing technical calculations
  • Contributing to specifications and reports
  • Managing project deliverables
  • Liaising with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting site activities such as inspections and commissioning

The Sr Mechanical Engineer will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to research and development of innovative solutions, and support continuous improvement of design processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in building services and MEP systems
  • Skills in Machine Design and Research and Development (R&D) for mechanical components and systems
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for mechanical design, modeling, and documentation
  • Project Management skills including planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in consultancy or construction environments, ideally within building services or MEP engineering
  • Knowledge of relevant UK and international standards, codes, and sustainable design principles
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Chartered or working toward chartered status with a recognized engineering institution is an advantage.
