Senior Power Electronics Control Engineer - R&D

Are you passionate about Power Electronics Control, Simulation, and Energy Conversion, and would you like to join a leading-edge R&D team of experts? Then this is the perfect job for you!

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $155,000 - $162,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

We are looking for a talented Engineer, who are passionate about Power Electronics, converter control Simulation and design. You will become one of our experts in Power Electronic control targeting our Embedded platform or Rapid control platform to control Electrical Energy conversion through Power Electronics design supporting our technical Innovation subchapter by development of our platforms.

The scope of this exciting opportunity

Based on your knowledge in the areas of Power Electronic converter control design and behavior, you must be skilled and have knowledge in the following design areas:

  • Power Electronic Control
  • Modeling and Simulation of Power Electronics/converters
  • Control loop design target Embedded SoC platform or using Rapid control.
  • Impedance and EMI understanding and simulation.

Your passion for the products, the system application, and for articulating the customer story is crucial, and this forms the basis for our new products.

Your background

  • You hold an BSc or MSc in Electronics Engineering.
  • You have minimum 3-5 years of product development with experience in power electronics design, Modeling, control loop design, using Embedded platform and EMI understanding, including a broad knowledge in the electrical industry - using multiple technical disciplines.

  • Innovate on Energy conversion using platforming thought process, for complete power electronics bricks as part of UPS or grid supporting products.
  • Eager to understand and support complex problems and issues, that arises with current and new technology in our platforms.
  • Contribute to our Innovation and Secure patents for Innovative ideas.
  • Design with reliability, cost, and target applications in mind.
  • Work in a comprehensive development framework, targeting Agile and Lean-Agile.
  • Develop your Modeling and Regulation skills in Power Electronics practices and competencies reaching a technical expertise level.
