About The Role
We are hiring two Senior Quality Engineers to join our Mobile team at Lendable. This pivotal role focuses on elevating the quality assurance processes for our mobile applications, ensuring we can scale confidently without compromising on reliability or speed. Our flagship app, Zable, is how most of our customers experience Lendable's suite of financial products, including loans, credit cards, car finance, mobile plans, subscriptions, and upcoming innovations. Built in React Native and TypeScript with a Kotlin backend, the app is deployed across iOS and Android from a single codebase, offering a seamless experience to users.

This role is automation-first, emphasizing the development of robust test frameworks, CI tooling, and helpers rather than manual testing. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers to set quality standards, define test strategies, and implement automation solutions that support rapid release cycles. Additionally, you will be at the forefront of integrating AI-assisted testing workflows, utilizing large language models and AI tools to accelerate test creation, failure analysis, and coverage insights while maintaining trustworthiness and accuracy.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will own the mobile test strategy, develop reliable end-to-end automation suites, and embed AI into the software development lifecycle. Your work will directly influence the stability, performance, and reliability of our mobile products, ultimately enhancing the user experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Essential:
- 6+ years of experience in quality engineering or test automation, with a proven track record of maintaining stable and reliable automated test suites.
- Expertise in TypeScript and JavaScript, including building helpers, tooling, and debugging within complex applications.
- Hands-on experience with Appium, device farms, or emulator/simulator orchestration at scale.
- Practical knowledge of Maestro or Detox automation frameworks for mobile testing.
- Experience designing and shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability, including flakiness reduction, parallel execution, and artifact management, preferably using GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of mobile E2E automation, with the ability to adapt from other platforms if necessary, and familiarity with React Native, TypeScript, and Expo frameworks.
- Ability to operate independently, drive improvements end-to-end, and collaborate effectively across teams.

Desirable
- Hands-on experience testing React Native applications.
- Knowledge of mobile performance optimization, including crash reporting, startup time, memory, and battery efficiency.
- API and contract testing experience, with strategic insights into test data and environment management.
- Native mobile development fundamentals in Swift or Kotlin for troubleshooting React Native abstractions.
- Experience implementing AI-assisted testing practices, including test generation, failure clustering, and coverage analytics with appropriate review controls.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve a pragmatic mobile test strategy, balancing end-to-end testing with faster unit and component tests, ensuring optimal coverage and reliability.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance robust end-to-end automation suites using Maestro, including test data management, device configurations, helpers, and reporting mechanisms.
- Integrate automation suites into CI pipelines to provide rapid, trustworthy feedback on pull requests and release candidates, reducing manual intervention and increasing confidence.
- Drive efforts to minimize test flakiness and improve time-to-diagnosis, focusing on root cause analysis rather than retries.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate test authoring, failure analysis, and coverage insights, making informed decisions about where AI adds value and where human judgment is essential.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams during the design phase to promote shift-left quality, review specifications, and identify risks early in the development process.
