SSAS Client Services Team Leader
The SSAS Client Services Team Leader oversees a client-facing pensions team, ensuring high-quality, compliant services for SSAS and related scheme clients. This role combines team leadership, operational oversight, and client service excellence, with accountability for performance, productivity, and regulatory adherence. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to extend. The role can be based in our Leeds or Liverpool office, working on a hybrid basis.
A Typical Day
- Manage a team of up to 12 people, including:
- Approving holidays, flexible working hours requests, return-to-work discussions, and managing excessive sickness/health issues and performance management.
- Ensure team effectiveness by identifying skills gaps and scheduling coaching/training as required.
- Hold weekly work planning meetings and monthly team review meetings to support the SSAS Management Committee and drive process/policy changes.
- Monitor day-to-day workload and service standards, escalating issues to the Management Committee and providing management information.
- Conduct monthly one-to-ones, mid-year, and annual reviews, aligning personal development plans and offering constructive feedback.

Essential & Desirable Criteria
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Team Leader in a Pensions/Finance Services company.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a dedicated team.
- Appropriate qualifications:
- GCSE Maths/English at Grade C/5 or Scottish National 5 at Grade C (or equivalent).
Desirable:
- Familiarity with SSAS, SIPPs, and FURBS (Self-Invested Personal Pensions, Flexible Universal Retirement Benefit Schemes).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and essential IT proficiency.
