Potential total package value of $344,062 to $453,341 (Inclusive of additional incentives and allowances) dependent on the level of experience and participation.
Full Time Indicative Base Package Value: $344,062 to $453,341 (Pro Rata part time)
Indicative Base Package inclusive of
- Base Salary $204,936 to $274,696
- Superannuation (12.5%)
- Private Practice Allowance – Scheme A
- Professional development allowances
- Mobile Phone allowance
- On-call allowance 17.5%
- Generous leave provisions, including up to 4 weeks training/education leave and up to 5 weeks annual leave per annum
- Annual Leave Loading 17.5%
Note: Starting base salary will be negotiated within this classification for the successful candidate, depending on experience and expertise.

The CHS Renal Service operates as a seamless Network based tertiary service to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for individuals with kidney dysfunction across the ACT and SNSWLHD. Adopting a multidisciplinary and integrated model of care, the service manages all stages of kidney disease, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, dialysis (including home-based therapies), kidney transplantation, and renal supportive care. The service has an active Clinical trials and Research Program and contributes actively to medical education in keeping with the requirements of a Level 6 tertiary specialty service.
The service has identified early detection/prevention of AKI, Metabolic CKD, Virtual Care and developing models of care for vulnerable populations in the region (remote/regional communities, Indigenous Australians) as a key priority focus over the next 5 years.
The position holder is expected to operate within the Public Sector Management Act (1994), the ACT Public Service Code of Conduct and the professional requirements specified by the appointee’s Specialist College.
The preferred candidate may be considered for a conjoint position in ANU at an academic level commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The academic position will be held for the duration of the Canberra Health Services employment and will be subject to regular performance reviews. No remuneration is attached to the University position. The employee will be responsible to the University on academic matters and to The Canberra Hospital & Health Services / Canberra Health Services for clinical/ research matters.

- Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Meet credentialing requirements and receive an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)
- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
