Job Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Staff AI Solutions specialist to join our Commercial Systems in Cambridge.
The team finds opportunities to simplify and automate the commercial processes used across Sales, Licensing, Legal and Commercial Operations. Your role will be to turn those ideas into practical solutions.
You will design and build solutions directly where appropriate, from AI-enabled workflows and agents to lightweight applications and integrations. For more complex solutions, you will work with Enterprise IT, Data, and multiple technology teams to define the approach, develop prototypes and support delivery into production.
This role sits at the intersection of applied AI, software engineering, data and business process improvement. At the heart of the role is a focus on getting useful solutions into the hands of users and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Turn process-improvement and automation opportunities into practical technical solutions, from initial idea through to implementation.
- Compose and develop AI-enabled workflows, agents, automations, integrations and lightweight applications.
- Develop prototypes quickly, test them with users and progress successful solutions towards secure, reliable and supportable operational use.
- Work with business partners to understand processes, requirements and expected outcomes, and resolve whether AI, automation, integration or a system change is the right approach.
- Partner with technical groups focused on Enterprise IT, Data, Security, and other domains where specialist architecture, integration, or production support is needed.
- Test, document and support solutions, building reusable components and sharing knowledge across the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
