Staff Applied AI Engineer | Incubator for AI (i.AI)

What if you could shape how AI is applied across an entire country?

At i.AI, we're building AI products inside the UK Government that are transforming public services across health, education, planning and beyond.

We're looking for Staff Applied AI Engineers to tackle some of the most ambitious AI challenges in government. You'll combine deep technical expertise with strong product judgement, helping define technical direction, identify high-value opportunities, and build AI systems that deliver meaningful impact at national scale.

You'll work at the frontier of applied AI, evaluating emerging techniques, shaping architectural decisions, and driving the development of production-grade AI products. Alongside hands-on engineering, you'll mentor others, influence technical strategy, and help teams navigate complex trade-offs around performance, safety, scalability and deployment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
