About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Analyst to join Wise’s Operations Analytics team. This is a senior technical leadership position that plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives and complex analytical projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical expertise in data analysis and infrastructure, combined with a strategic mindset to influence business decisions at the highest levels. As a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will take ownership of ambiguous, large-scale projects from conception to completion, developing scalable data solutions that power the company's growth and operational efficiency. You will also mentor and develop a talented team of analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to impact global financial services by leveraging data-driven insights and innovative technical solutions to solve real-world problems on a worldwide scale.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading complex data projects with minimal supervision and possess advanced technical skills. A strong strategic mindset and excellent communication skills are essential for influencing stakeholders and driving initiatives forward. Candidates should have extensive experience in SQL, data pipeline tools such as dbt, and designing scalable data architectures. Experience mentoring analysts and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is required; a master’s degree or higher qualification is a plus. We value candidates who are proactive, ownership-driven, and committed to continuous professional development.
Responsibilities
- Lead analytical roadmaps and strategic initiatives aligned with Wise’s long-term goals, identifying high-impact opportunities and translating them into actionable projects.
- Own and manage large, complex analytical projects from start to finish, defining project scope, aligning stakeholders, and navigating technical ambiguities to ensure timely delivery.
- Partner closely with senior leadership by preparing and delivering high-level presentations, influencing decision-making processes, and resolving conflicts through data-driven insights.
- Pioneer the development of efficient, high-performing SQL queries and lead the design of scalable data infrastructure using tools like dbt, establishing best practices across the team.
- Mentor and develop team members by providing technical guidance, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and identifying growth opportunities within the analytics function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity in all analytical outputs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance data solutions and analytical methodologies.
