Staff Software Engineer – AI Scale-Up | Remote-First (UK) | Up to £180,000 + 15% Bonus + Stock Options

They're now hiring a Staff Engineer to shape how some of their most critical systems are built.
The role
You won't sit inside a single team. You'll work across several, setting technical direction on systems that carry real weight in the business. Expect to:
- Solve hard architectural problems in high-throughput, low-latency environments
- Steer engineering strategy and the decisions that follow from it
- Raise the bar for senior engineers through mentoring and clear standards
- Stay hands-on and write code where it makes the biggest difference

What you'll bring
- A strong track record building large-scale backend systems
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, architecture, and system design
- Experience running production systems where performance matters
- Excellent programming skills (Go is a big plus)
- Credibility to influence technical decisions across multiple teams
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and setting engineering standards

The package
- Salary up to £180,000
- 15% bonus
