Staff Engineer (Golang / High-Throughput Systems) – B2B SaaS – Remote UK
A market-leading B2B SaaS company is seeking an exceptional Staff Engineer to join their engineering organisation and help design and scale high-performance systems powering their industry-leading platform.
With around 500 employees, this profitable unicorn has established itself as the market leader within its space, delivering innovative technology solutions to businesses globally. As the company continues to scale, they are looking for a senior technical leader who can help shape architecture, solve complex engineering challenges, and drive engineering excellence across the organisation.
This is a fully remote opportunity across the UK, with an expectation to attend the London office approximately 2–3 times per quarter for collaboration, planning, and team events.
The Role
As a Staff Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the platform, working across engineering teams to build reliable, scalable, and high-throughput systems. You will tackle complex engineering challenges around performance, distributed systems, and scalability while helping establish best practices across the organisation. This is an opportunity to have significant technical influence within a highly successful SaaS business operating at scale.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
