We'd love you to be part of our journey.
As a Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundations that enable the rapid development and scaling of new customer products and propositions across Compare the Market. You'll define and drive the architecture, standards, and engineering practices that underpin our product platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, resilient, and designed for long-term growth.

You'll help accelerate the delivery of new customer experiences by building reusable capabilities, shared services, and platform components that empower teams to innovate quickly and safely.
We work agentically, with Spec Driven Development as our pattern of choice: clear specifications drive how we design, build, and verify software alongside AI-assisted tooling. You'll help shape and scale this way of working across our product platform estate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
